This is an unknow portrait of Caligula? The hairstyle is wrong, but the physiognomy is close. Very unknown portrait. The head has been identified as that of Caligula since it entered the Musuem in 1937, and doubtless earlier too. It was published as such by B Schneider, in Studien zu den kleinformartigen Kaiserportrats (Munich 1976) 44. The Museum does not have mcuh research that has been done on it. Joe Geranio
