Commemorative AR Denarius of Rome. Struck A.D.164.
Obverse: DIVVS ANTONINVS. Bare head of Antoninus Pius facing right.
Reverse: DIVO PIO. Column of Antoninus Pius surmounted by statue of the emperor and surrounded by enclosure.

The Column of Antoninus Pius (Columna Antonini Pii) was erected in the Campus Martius in memory of Antoninus Pius by Marcus Aurelius and Lucius Verus on the twentieth anniversary of his reign. The base of this column still survives, housed in the Cortile della Pigna in the Vatican Museums.
