During the reign of Commodus (AD 191) a massive fire destroyed the Temple of Vesta and much of the forum

This coin commemorates the 7th and final recorded restoration of the temple that was undertaken by Septimius Severus and his wife Julia Domna (mother of Caracalla and Geta) around AD 204
