Obv: Crowned Bust facing
+EDWARDVS o RE(X AN)GLI
Rev: Long cross quartered by trefoil of pellets;
crozier at end of long cross by CIVI
CIVI/ TAS/ DVN(E/LMI)E.
Issued by Bishop Hatfield
North 1170 - SCBC 1594
LAL 1/1 Durham Series E
Unusual letter R which looks like a P with a
horizontal bar at the foot. This letter form
occurs on some Groats & half groats of London
but not on the pence. It does not occur on the
coins minted in York but occasionally does so
on the pence minted at Durham - as on this example.
