KINGS of MACEDON. Philip II. 359-336 BC. AR Tetradrachm (14.20 g, 7h). Amphipolis mint. Lifetime issue, struck circa 348/7-343/2 BC. Laureate head of Zeus right / FILIP-POU, youth on horseback right, holding palm in right hand, reins in left; rose below raised foreleg. Le Rider 211 (D100/R179); SNG ANS 494-8. Near EF, beautiful dark iridescent toning around the devices.

Withdrawn by CNG as high-end fake.
