Great early portrait of Nero as Caesar circa 54 AD and later Civil War denarius of Vindex near the end of Nero's brutal reign. Vindex's provincial background did not see him fit to be emperor, so Galba took the tile in April 68 and Vindex died, probably in battle, shortly thereafter.
