Aspendos, Pamphylia (Rare Wrestler/Athena die variant; 410-385 BC.)

Rev: Slinger advancing right about to discharge his sling; before, statue of Athena w/ spear & shield; behind, triskeles; EΣTΦEΔIIVΣ legend surrounding; all within dotted incuse square.

Thanks, Alex. I may rephotograph the coin as I wasn't too happy how dark it turned out. There's a nice blue toning to the coin that isn't apparent in these photos (you might be able to make out some on the wrestler obv.).
Regarding the coin, aside from the horn silver near the wrestlers' heads, it's as nice as I could expect. I, too, was surprised by the full body outfit on the slinger, which appears to be engraved to reflect a reeded or cloth-like article. It's a bit "see through" as the slinger's visible manhood attests, so I don't think it was intended to represent armor.
It was the Athena statue that drew me to the coin. I'm fascinated by rare die variants in otherwise invariant and long-lived issues as these variants suggest some sort of historical significance, which then put me on a hunt for contextual information. It's the hunt for background and attribution info that I find most satisfying about our hobby...it drives my intellectual curiosity and I suspect this holds for you and others here.
