Here's my coin for today, January 25th. A new addition to my personal collection, the 'moon and stars' reverse has long been a favorite. The relief on this coin is very high, and I couldn't resist the hint of rainbow iridescence.

This portrait is more expressive than many for Augustus. Very nice.

Interestingly, it actually replaced a coin in slightly better condition, which was the Caius & Lucius type. The tradeoff in condition down to a VF was worth it, though, due to the portrait style/expression and the toning, as mentioned.

Running my personal collection on a somewhat tight budget, I only allow myself one (!!) coin a month. It's so hard sometimes deciding which one since I get to handle a few hundred in that time period.
