Exhibition in Arles

Artifacts found in the Rhône river at Arles are now exhibited until Sept 2010:

Area worth a visit, with Nîmes (Nemausus), Orange, etc ...!

I just spent a week touring many of the Roman sites in the South of France and strongly concur with Jérome that they all well worth seeing. Unfortunately I was in Arles on the Tuesday before the show of which he wrote opened. Quel dommage!

Well worth visiting too are the Musée gallo-romain in Lyon and the Roman theater and odeon nearby. Also Vienne, about 30 minutes by train from Lyon, is a real treat with a temple almost as well preserved as that of the Maison Carée in Nîmes as well as an excellent museum.
