Congrats Marsmike... I was floored when I read which coin won but, once I studied it awhile, I agree that it's a gorgeous coin. I guess I was just gobsmacked by the glitter of gold!

Very nice but I must gracefully & gratefully decline your generousity. Apart from said wife's disapproval I am holding out for an Anglo-Saxon map of around 750-800AD, small ones of which I have in various books.

Regarding the 750-800AD map.............are your referring to perhaps a 16th or 17th century map depicting England in 750-800 AD, or a map of Anglo-Saxon England actually made in the years 750-800AD?
