Just curious whether it's a sytem-wide glitch or if someone tried to send me a message which didn't quite make it.

Somebody signed up and spammed the entire board.

The admin must have removed it, but it left a permanent Unread message record.

I cant get the unreads to show 0.

I'm the guilty party -- sorry. We had a spammer sign up on the board and he started sending everyone a private message. I caught it and deleted the messages he sent, but not before he sent 300 or so. I wanted to get rid of the messages as soon as possible, and I didn't update the message counts. I'll have to see if I can sort that out shortly.

BTW, the spam account and email is banned permanently, and his IP address is blocked in my firewalls. If this happens again I will probably add a captcha to the pm screen. I know it's annoying, but it's better than being spammed, I think.

As I just discovered, you cannot empty this message out of your folder the easy way. You have to tick it and choose delete. Then it goes! Alex
