First, what a beautiful example, especially the reverse. From my checks there is no significance to the dot, though it is clearly engraved in the exergue. During this period the dot was not utilized until later. Perhaps it was a "control" mark of some sort. Maybe another collector has seen another example of this on another specie.
Regardless, a truely wonderful coin, thanks for the post!
