View Full Version : Derbe and von aulock

I'm trying to locate Aulock's Munzen und Laykaoniens, 1976. It seems the nearest copies for me is the University of Missouri library, Columbia, MO and in a Chicago library (I live in Nebraska). I specifically want to look at the pages describing the coins of Derbe. If anyone could scan these pages and plate photos for me it would be appreciated; or if anyone knows of a copy for sale? Also, is there an english reprint version of this book? Thanks.

A copy of von Aulock's book recently auctioned for 80 francs (about US$80).
The ANS should be able to photocopy the pages and plates of Derbe for about $5. See http://www.numismatics.org/Library/Service

I was about to write that it was me who purchased that Aulock monograph, but I bought the other two in that sale (Pisidien and Phrygien, it was first time I have seen them offered complete) as I already have Lykaonien as a good hand copy. I can scan the Derbe descriptions and plates if you want me to. As I said, it's just a hand copy, but of good quality.
There are no English reprints of the Aulock monographs. In fact, even in German, they are notoriously difficult to obtain - the only easy one to find is Prhygien II.

PM me your email address and I'll do you the pages. There are only six coins listed of which four are illustrated.

Thanks djmacdo for sending me the scans for Derbe! Thanks to you others who offered help! A while back I put my two Faustina II Derbe coins on asiaminorcoins.com/gallery if anyone is interested. The coins and photos aren't the greatest, but Derbe coins are hard to get. Mark
