Does that green stuff below the portrait seem to have be artificially added to cover a dent or corrosion?

Looks like corrosion itself that has been worked down, but not nicely worked to completion, perhaps for fear of damaging the coin or patina. That is perhaps a blessing, restraint in cleaning is rare these days, so if it is corrosion, I'd prefer that kind so that I can do any touch up myself.

But it does, coincidentally, have the color and look of Squadron green putty, for any platic modelers out there.

Yes it does. I've only seen the picture of this coin and it actually looks like smeared green putty that's flowing out of the flan.

It looks natural enough. I have a coin with a similar encrustation--which I can guarantee is not putty!
